The game is scheduled for a global launch this March on PC and next-gen consoles.
As the highly anticipated release draws closer, the developers behind Crimson Desert are peeling back the curtain on the sprawling realm of Pywel and its diverse inhabitants. Players will soon find themselves traversing vast, meticulously crafted landscapes, following the journey of Kliff—a protagonist whose depth and personality have been a major focus for the creative team.
It has been confirmed that veteran actor Alec Newman provides the voice for Kliff. In a recent interview, Newman shared his approach to the role, explaining how he sought to give the character a distinct vocal identity that highlights his more compassionate side. To achieve this, Newman utilized a register significantly lower than his natural speaking voice, resulting in a gravelly, almost predatory tone. This specific choice adds an air of latent danger to the hero while still allowing him to express genuine warmth and unwavering devotion.
Many players will recognize Newman from his iconic performance as Adam Smasher in Cyberpunk 2077, as well as his role as Graden in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Completing the game’s central trio are the characters Damiana and Ungku, voiced by Rebecca Hanssen and Stewart Scudamore, respectively. Hanssen is widely celebrated for her portrayal of Alfira in Baldur’s Gate 3, while Scudamore’s impressive resume includes work on the hit animated series Arcane, set within the League of Legends universe.
Crimson Desert is set to arrive on March 19 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
