Crimson Desert: Charting The Unknown DLC Introduces Underwater Diving, Naval Combat, And More Next Month
Ever since Crimson Desert made its debut this past March, developer Pearl Abyss has maintained a relentless update schedule. The studio has focused on purging generative AI assets, refining the narrative through targeted patches, introducing cross-save functionality, and ultimately rolling out an expansive “Enhanced Version” last month. Now, the team is gearing up to launch its very first expansion. Subtitled “Charting The Unknown,” the upcoming DLC injects a wealth of seafaring exploration into protagonist Kliff’s sprawling journey when it launches for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on October 15.
Premiering during the recent PlayStation State of Play, the official trailer for Charting The Unknown highlights Kliff navigating open waters alongside an unexpected marine ally resembling a shark. The footage also showcases naval captaining reminiscent of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, robust coastal homestead construction via the game’s base-building features, and much more. Beyond maritime gameplay, the expansion directly continues Kliff’s narrative arc past the conclusion of the core campaign, introducing formidable new adversaries, unique weaponry, and specialized armor sets.
