Like a certain joyful elf and his diligent group of smaller elves, Swen and the team are diligently finalizing the Patch 8 stress test build, set to go live in January. Continue reading to learn how you and your companions can participate!

The goal of a stress test is to rigorously examine the latest game version to identify any instabilities or gameplay issues before Patch 8 launches. Your assistance will allow us to monitor any irregularities.
Cross-Play
Implementing cross-play for a game as extensive as Baldur’s Gate 3 is no simple feat, and we invite you to help us test out this exciting new feature.

Patch 8 & Supported Mods
While supported mods should function as expected, this stress test offers a fantastic chance to observe how these mods interact with the new features introduced in Patch 8.
Discord Channels & Your Experience
If you decide to participate, you’ll have the opportunity to provide feedback through our form, assisting us in refining and fine-tuning before Patch 8 is released. We’ll also have designated testing channels on our Discord server, where our Community Team can assist with stress test installation and you can share your gameplay experiences with Patch 8!
No matter if you play Baldur’s Gate 3 on PC, PlayStation, or Xbox, you’re welcome to register your interest in participating in the Patch 8 stress test!
After registration, keep an eye out for future email instructions on accessing the stress test. The process will vary depending on the platform, so ensure all your details are accurate.
Xbox participants will need to download the Xbox Insider Hub App to become an Xbox Insider and join the playtest from the app.

Q: Is it possible to stream or share images from the stress test?

Q: Will access be available to everyone on the first day?
A: Access will be distributed in waves. Please be aware that registering interest does not guarantee access.
Q: Will my saved games from the stress test be compatible with Patch 8?
A: Unfortunately, we cannot assure compatibility of saved games created during the stress test with the official Patch 8.
Q: Why must I provide my location for a PlayStation code but not for other platforms?
A: PlayStation codes must be region-specific due to their regional store setup. For other platforms, uniform codes are generally issued globally.
