Clear Midnight: Cosplayer Brings Shani from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Hearts of Stone to Life

Cosplayer Tatyana “Blackness” Smirnova stepped into the role of Shani from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Hearts of Stone, recreating moments from the side quest “A Clear Midnight.”

Although the fourth season of The Witcher series received underwhelming reviews, the franchise still commands a devoted fanbase that’s eagerly anticipating the action-RPG The Witcher 4 and continues to celebrate the community’s cosplay work.

Today, photographer Svetlana Bogachyova and model Tatyana “Blackness” Smirnova released a fresh batch of images in which the cosplayer appears as Shani from the Hearts of Stone expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

It appears the team intended to stage specific moments from the side quest “A Clear Midnight.” In that mission, Geralt and Shani can row out to the lake’s center — a sequence that may unfold into a tender exchange or see Shani taken ill.

Shani is a capable physician and a memorable supporting character — a personification of sincere, selfless kindness and duty in the Witcher’s grim world. She represents a glimpse of ordinary, humane life that the White Wolf visits only from time to time.
