Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Celebrates Game Awards Success With a Massive Free Content Update

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 etched its name into the history books at The Game Awards 2025, securing an unprecedented haul of trophies, including the prestigious Game of the Year title. Yet, developer Sandfall Interactive wasn’t content with just a victory lap. During their final acceptance speech of the evening, the team stunned the audience by revealing that the previously teased content expansion is not merely on the horizon—it is available to download right now.
This substantial free update introduces a brand-new region titled “Verso’s Drafts.” Designed for the later stages of the campaign, the expansion features a wealth of new content, including formidable enemy types, poignant narrative moments, fresh musical tracks, and stylish character outfits. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive has delivered on one of the community’s most frequent requests: a dedicated Photo Mode.
Beyond the new exploration area, players can test their mettle against additional bosses in the Endless Tower. The update also brings significant quality-of-life refinements, performance optimizations, and expanded localization support for Czech, Ukrainian, Latin American Spanish, Turkish, Vietnamese, Thai, and Indonesian. For those looking for the granular details, the comprehensive patch notes can be found here.
“Return to the Expedition for a voyage through the surreal sanctuary of a young Verso,” the developers shared in the update’s description. “In a realm forged from innocence and wonder, shadows often emerge when the imagination wanders too far into the dark.”
The “Thank You” update is currently live across all platforms. For more highlights from the event, explore the reveal of Highguard from former Respawn veterans, the stunning return of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and the first look at the next chapter in the Tomb Raider franchise.
