Charlie Puth Blasts Elon Musk After 3 A.M. SpaceX Launch Terrifies Pregnant Wife

Charlie Puth Appeals to Elon Musk After Early-Morning SpaceX Launch Shook His Home

Published December 10, 2025

Charlie Puth questioned Elon Musk on X after an early-morning SpaceX rocket launch in Southern California rattled his household. The blast — which woke the family in the middle of the night — prompted Puth to politely draw attention to the disruption.

In a post on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, Puth addressed Musk directly, noting that “these sonic booms have gotten progressively louder since they started launching the rockets in Santa Barbara.” At around 3:40 a.m. PT, a Falcon 9 liftoff from Vandenberg Space Force Base sent 27 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit and produced the disturbance described by the singer-producer.

Puth added that the most recent event felt exceptionally strong: “This one at 3am today felt like 150–160 dB, violently shook our whole house, and really frightened my pregnant wife.” He asked that the noise not intensify further as they prepare to welcome their first child; Puth and wife Brooke Sansone were married in September 2024 and are expecting their first baby.

As of publication, Musk had not replied to Puth’s message. Billboard has reached out to SpaceX for comment.

Health experts caution that prolonged exposure to very loud sound can be dangerous. The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) notes that levels above 120 dBA are unsafe for any length of time. For context, residents in Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Ventura counties were warned by SpaceX that some people in the region might hear one or more sonic booms depending on weather and other conditions; the company’s launch notices include similar disclaimers. SpaceX has another launch planned in the same area for the early morning of December 14, 2025.
