Charles Cross, the popular songs author that penciled publications on Nirvana and Jimi Hendrix, and editor of prominent Seattle publication The Rocket, passed away Friday,Aug 9.

“We are sorry to share that Charles Cross has passed,” reviews a declaration from his family members. “He died peacefully of natural causes in his sleep on August 9th, 2024. We are all grief-stricken and trying to get through this difficult process of dealing with the next steps.”

Cross composed 9 publications consisting of 3 New York Times bestsellers Heavier Than Heaven: The Biography of Kurt Cobain, which won the 2002 ASCAP Award for superior bio. Three years later on, Cross released his 2005 bestselling Hendrix bio Room Full of Mirrors, admired by Vibe publication as one of the best-ever publications on songs.
