Chad Kroeger Reluctantly Sings ‘Rockstar’ for Demanding Fan at Casino

A candid video capturing a humorous exchange between Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger and an insistent fan has recently gone viral.
In the brief footage, shared by Spin, the 51-year-old Canadian rocker is seen spending time at a casino when a woman approaches him with a bold request for an impromptu performance.
“Chad, can you sing for me one little time?” the fan asks. Kroeger, seemingly caught off guard and appearing slightly exasperated, initially fires back with a blunt, “Would you shut the f—k up?”
Despite the sharp response, the fan persists, and Kroeger eventually relents. “Yes, what?” he asks with a sigh, while a companion in the background can be heard chuckling at the situation.
The fan specifically requests a snippet of “Rockstar,” the band’s iconic 2007 hit that reached No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100. The track remains one of the most recognizable singles from their 2005 multi-platinum album, All the Right Reasons.
Kroeger eventually obliges, lifting his hand and delivering the song’s opening lines: “I’m through with standing in line to clubs I’ll never get in / It’s like the bottom of the ninth, and I’m never gonna win.”
Upon finishing the brief rendition, he places his hand over the camera lens and, with a knowing smirk, jokingly reiterates his request for privacy: “Would you f—k off?”
Outside of this viral moment, Nickelback has been active in the studio, recently joining forces with English rock outfit Don Broco for a new collaboration titled “Nightmare Tripping.” The track serves as the lead single for Don Broco’s upcoming album, which is scheduled to arrive on March 27 via Fearless Records.
Nickelback’s own most recent studio project, Get Rollin’, was released in 2022 and made its mark by peaking at No. 30 on the Billboard 200 chart.
