CD Projekt co-founder’s GOG buyout price revealed – rumor

CD Projekt recently announced the divestment of its GOG.com platform, handing over the reins to the company’s original co-founder, Michał Kiciński.

Reports circulating within the industry indicate that the transaction was valued at approximately 90.7 million PLN, which translates to roughly $25 million. This valuation has drawn considerable attention, particularly given GOG’s reputation as a premier destination for DRM-free titles.

Having acquired a 100% stake in the storefront, Kiciński has entered into an agreement to maintain a strategic partnership with his former company, ensuring that CD Projekt Red’s future releases will continue to grace the platform. The new proprietor emphasized that the service will remain fiercely independent, staying true to its core philosophy of digital ownership and consumer freedom.

For its part, CD Projekt intends to pivot its focus exclusively toward the development of ambitious new projects within the beloved Witcher and Cyberpunk universes.

Financial data suggests that GOG’s performance remains robust, with the platform reportedly generating 143 million PLN in revenue—approximately $35.75 million—during the first three quarters of 2025.
