Cardi B’s Grand Vision: What a Knicks Championship Would Mean for NYC

Cardi B has high hopes for the New York Knicks as they chase glory in the 2026 NBA Finals. While attending Game 3 against the San Antonio Spurs, the Bronx-bred superstar shared a spirited and hilarious take when asked by Entertainment Tonight about the impact a championship title would have on the Big Apple.
“It’s going to mean the rats will disappear, trees will start growing, and all the potholes will finally be filled,” she joked with infectious energy. “There will be showers of glitter falling from the sky, and even the Statue of Liberty is going to come to life.”
She added, “It would mean everything. Finally, all the crimes will be solved!” Naturally, she capped off her enthusiastic prediction with a resounding, “Go Knicks!”
While the Knicks suffered a tough 111-115 loss on Monday, they remain in the lead with a 2-1 series advantage. The team is currently vying for their first championship since 1973 and their first Finals appearance since 1999. The pressure mounts as Game 4 returns to Madison Square Garden this Wednesday.
A true staple at Knicks games, Cardi B was seen courtside at Game 3 alongside her four-year-old son, Wave, following a high-energy halftime performance. Her vocal support for her hometown runs deep; she recently collaborated with Mayor Zohran Mamdani to launch a musical contest centered on his “2-K” program, which aims to provide accessible childcare for New York families.
“Can you believe that? We have a 34-year-old mayor,” she remarked to the politician in a recent promotional clip. “I feel like I’m just a kid, and you’re out here running New York!”
