Cailee Spaeny May Still Join X-Men in a Different Marvel Role
Marvel Studios is reportedly still in discussions with Alien: Romulus star Cailee Spaeny for a role in its upcoming X-Men reboot.
According to Knight Edge Media, the actress remains in talks with the studio despite missing out on the role of Rogue, which ultimately went to Indie Navarrette. Spaeny is now reportedly under consideration for a smaller role designed to expand in future installments.
“She is still in talks with Marvel Studios for an appearance as a minor character with the potential for an expanded role in future films.”
Industry insider MyTimeToShineHello also reported that negotiations remain active, describing the prospective role for Spaeny as “crazy.” The identity of the character has not been disclosed.

At D23, Marvel Studios unveiled only part of the ensemble for the film. The announced cast includes Kit Connor as Cyclops, Christopher Abbott as Professor X, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Indie Navarrette as Rogue, and Maya Boyd as Storm. Kevin Feige noted that more casting announcements are still to come.
Jake Schreier is set to direct X-Men, which is scheduled to premiere in theaters on May 5, 2028.
