Finding humor in the face of life’s challenges, Bunnie Xo is back with a fresh episode of her Dumb Blonde podcast. Addressing her recent split from country sensation Jelly Roll, she quipped that she, too, has effectively “served her time”—much like one of the more colorful characters currently sliding into her direct messages.
In a candid clip shared on her Instagram this past Thursday (June 25), Bunnie opened up about the influx of unsolicited messages she has received since news of her divorce surfaced earlier this month. Among the more memorable entries was a proposition from an incarcerated individual, currently counting down the days until his decade-long sentence concludes, who expressed an eager interest in linking up upon his release.
“After ten years, he’s probably due for some company,” quipped her guest and friend, Meme Shahan.
Bunnie didn’t skip a beat, retorting with a laugh, “Same here. I just finished my own ten-year stint, so what exactly are we comparing notes on?”
The pair had been married for nearly a decade before Jelly Roll filed for divorce in May—a development that only reached the public eye earlier this month via court documents obtained by TMZ. In the lead-up to this latest episode, Bunnie clarified that despite her initial shock when the filing became reality, she and the Grammy winner remain on amicable terms.
Even so, she joked that her husband might not appreciate her likening their marriage to a prison sentence. “I’m definitely going to get a phone call about this,” she laughed. “J is going to check in like, ‘Seriously?’ It’s all in good fun—I’m just keeping things lighthearted.”
The sudden spotlight on her personal life has led to an overwhelming inbox. Before the podcast aired, she poked fun at the wave of “thirsty” suitors reaching out, captioning an Instagram post with a playful, “Send help.”
Beyond the prison proposal, Bunnie revealed that her DMs have been flooded by various admirers, including several rappers hoping for a connection. However, she’s setting a high bar for her suitors. “You’ve got to bring more to the table,” she remarked. “I’m not entertaining a DM that just says ‘Yo.’”
