With the grand debut of ARIRANG, the icons of BTS have officially reclaimed their throne. To celebrate their homecoming, a forthcoming Netflix documentary is set to offer the ARMY an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at the monumental effort required to launch this new chapter.

A teaser for the streaming giant’s BTS: The Return, released on Wednesday (March 25), captures RM, Jin, Suga, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook during the high-stakes photo shoot for their ARIRANG cover art. While the final image portrays the septet in sharp, sophisticated suits with stoic expressions, the documentary footage pulls back the curtain on the creative chaos. It reveals a bustling team of producers, visionary stylists, and creative directors working in tandem to perfect what appears to be a deceptively simple shot.

The preview also highlights the individual growth of the members through a series of candid, “talking-head” interviews. While the clip teases poignant questions—asking if they feel they are venturing into uncharted territory and how they have evolved as artists—it leaves their specific answers a mystery, building anticipation for the full release.

“They’re back!” the documentary’s official synopsis proclaims. “BTS converges in Los Angeles to record their latest masterpiece, Arirang. This film provides unprecedented access to the band as they navigate the complexities of a bold new era.”

The documentary is scheduled to premiere this Friday (March 27), arriving exactly one week after ARIRANG hit the shelves. The 14-track project, led by the single “Swim,” represents the group’s first full-length studio effort since 2020’s chart-topping Be.

The global superstars are currently in the middle of a whirlwind promotional tour that will culminate in a massive world tour this April. After kicking things off with a landmark comeback concert in Seoul, BTS traveled to New York City for an exclusive Spotify showcase and a visually stunning performance at the Guggenheim for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Catch the full sneak peek for BTS: The Return in the video above before the documentary hits Netflix this weekend.
