During his concert at the Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery in Woodinville, Washington, on Saturday, June 6, Bob Dylan treated fans to a rare musical surprise. The legendary artist dusted off “You Ain’t Goin’ Nowhere,” a beloved track from the iconic Basement Tapes, marking the song’s first live appearance in his setlist in over 14 years.

Dylan launched the performance with the 1967 classic—which had not been played live since 2012—supported by the subtle vocal harmonies of guitarists Doug Lancio and Bob Britt.

While the song has enjoyed a storied legacy through various interpretations—most notably The Byrds’ 1968 version, which climbed to No. 74 on the Billboard Hot 100, and a well-known take by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers—Dylan himself has famously kept the track out of his regular stage rotation.

This resurgence is a highlight of Dylan’s sprawling Rough and Rowdy Ways tour, which has been captivating audiences since late 2021. Over the weekend, the folk-rock icon announced he is extending the tour through late 2026 with a fresh slate of North American dates. Throughout this extensive run, Dylan has delighted crowds with unpredictable selections, including a heartfelt tribute to the late Shane MacGowan with a rendition of The Pogues’ “A Rainy Night in Soho” in Dublin, and the revival of a traditional folk ballad that had been absent from his repertoire for over three decades.

Bob Dylan’s influence on the charts remains unparalleled. He has secured 11 top-10 albums on the Billboard 200, including chart-toppers Modern Times (2006) and Together Through Life (2009). His catalog of hits, such as the 1965 powerhouse “Like a Rolling Stone” and the rebellious “Rainy Day Women #12 & 35,” stands as a pillar of rock history.

Looking ahead, Dylan continues to foster his creative spirit; he recently co-wrote a track for Willie Nelson’s May 2026 release, Dream Chaser, and reports suggest he has been back in the studio with his touring ensemble, actively crafting new material.
