With her highly anticipated solo debut on the horizon, JISOO is acutely aware that all eyes are fixated on her next move. In a fresh profile featured in the latest issue of V Magazine, the BLACKPINK powerhouse discusses her artistic evolution for her forthcoming full-length studio album and reveals how she navigates the immense weight of fan expectations.
Regarding the creative direction of her upcoming record, JISOO shared, “Because this is my first full-length album, I am pouring my efforts into showcasing a much broader musical spectrum.”
“It would be truly fulfilling if, upon listening to this project, fans feel they have discovered an entirely new facet of my artistry,” she reflected.
To date, JISOO has primarily established her solo presence through singles and her previous EP, AMORTAGE. She remains the final member of BLACKPINK to unveil a full-length solo LP, following the successful individual chart runs of LISA, JENNIE, and ROSÉ—who respectively dominated the Billboard 200 with Alter Ego, Ruby, and Rosie. The quartet most recently reunited this past February to release the EP DEADLINE, following the conclusion of their world tour.
Acknowledging that the fervor surrounding her debut LP is reaching a fever pitch, JISOO admitted to the publication that the sheer scale of global interest can, at times, feel overwhelming. “Navigating that level of scrutiny and anticipation is undeniably pressuring,” she noted.
However, she emphasized her commitment to authenticity as her primary defense mechanism. “I strive not to dwell on those anxieties,” she explained. “I constantly remind myself that staying true to who I am is more than enough.”
She concluded, “It is my method of self-preservation. Instead of losing time to worry, I focus on experiencing every moment to the fullest.”
