Billie Eilish has no interest in undergoing cosmetic enhancements. In a recent appearance on Amy Poehler’s podcast, Good Hang With Amy Poehler, released this Tuesday (May 5), the chart-topping artist shared her commitment to graceful, natural aging, emphasizing that she intends to avoid artificial procedures entirely.
Reflecting on the unique pressures of growing up in the public eye, Eilish admitted she once mistakenly believed her teenage identity would remain fixed forever. “I recall being 17 and feeling convinced that I was already the person I would be for the rest of my life,” she shared with Poehler. “Looking back, that was clearly a naive perspective.”
Today, the nine-time Grammy winner finds herself genuinely looking forward to the evolution of her appearance. She is eager to let her face and body show the natural passage of time. “I’m genuinely excited to age,” Eilish stated. “I want my future children to recognize my face as their own, rather than seeing some artificial, altered version of what seems to be the standard today.”
This discussion coincides with the upcoming release of her 3D concert film, Hit Me Hard and Soft—co-directed by James Cameron—arriving on May 8. Eilish has broached this subject previously; in a 2021 interview with The Guardian, she clarified that while she supports individuals doing whatever makes them feel happy, she takes issue with the dishonesty surrounding aesthetic procedures. “When people pretend they haven’t had work done and suggest others could achieve the same results if they ‘just tried harder,’ it’s infuriating,” she noted. “It sets such a damaging precedent for young women and men.”
During her conversation with Poehler, Eilish also touched upon the importance of staying true to oneself. Addressing her reputation for being unapologetically candid—a trait that drew significant attention when she first rose to fame—she revealed that she once attempted a PR training session at age 14, an experience she found deeply unpleasant.
“I spent the whole time in tears,” she admitted. “It was an incredibly daunting experience. I only lasted one session, and frankly, I chose to ignore every piece of advice they gave me afterward.”
