BattleTech expands with Flashpoint in November

The first enlargement for BattleTech will arrive in November, publishers Paradox introduced at present, with a brand new sort of story mission chain and new mechs together with… wait, this mech carries an axe to cut different mechs to items? Hatchetman, I need you. Come meet this robolad and his enormous chopper within the trailer beneath. Oh, and study these new missions and mechs and whatnot for the turn-based technique game too I suppose. But largely axe.

The enlargement can even add the Cyclops and Crab mechs, the brand new ‘Target Acquisition’ Encounter sort (the place Paradox say “you’ll put your light and medium ‘Mechs to good use by taking control of three territories on the map to prevail!”), to not point out a tropical biome completely suited to land crabs. But the principle characteristic is Flashpoints, a brand new sort of mission chain.

“Flashpoints are high-stakes branching short stories, comprised of procedural mercenary missions linked together with new crew conversations, special events, critical choices, and valuable rewards,” Paradox clarify in at present’s announcement. “To ramp up the intensity, some Flashpoint stories will feature ‘Consecutive Deployments’ in which players won’t be able to repair their ‘Mechs between missions.”

You know the way it goes: your mech will get dwelling and remains to be hopping across the hallway with one steel shoe off because it tries to wrench the opposite off when the telephone rings and it’s proper again out the door. A horrible scenario. Probably forgets its pockets too and received’t realise till it tries to pay on the petrol station. Poor expensive.

“Flashpoint stories give us the flexibility to design a huge variety of experiences, all with different sequences, events, challenges, decisions, rewards, etc,” BattleTech director Mitch Gitelman added. “We’re combining core gameplay mechanics in new ways to create deeper content.”

Paradox haven’t confirmed when precisely in November that Flashpoint will launch, nor introduced a worth.
