Greetings, everyone.

As we approach the launch of Season 4, we want to look back at the journey of Battlefield 6 and how far it has come since launch.

Over the last few months, the game has blossomed into a much richer and more diverse experience. We have expanded from 9 maps at launch to 15, bolstered our arsenal to 58 weapons, and added a host of new vehicles, modes, and seasonal events—much of which was inspired by you, our players.

Your input across community channels and Battlefield Labs has been instrumental. Specifically, player feedback regarding map variety has been pivotal; seeing your positive response to locations like Railway to Golmud and Cairo Bazaar encourages us to keep pushing boundaries.

With Season 4 arriving on July 21, we are doubling down on this momentum by reintroducing Naval Warfare, debuting the Tsuru Reef map, and preparing for the return of Wake Island. If you’ve been away from the front lines, now is the perfect time to rejoin the fight.

Naval Warfare Returns in Season 4

Season 4 elevates our “all-out warfare” approach by bringing back Naval Warfare, complete with a fleet of vessels engineered for open-water combat. These boats provide fresh tactical dimensions to the sandbox, while our new dynamic wave system ensures that every nautical engagement feels intense and unpredictable.

Battlefield has always championed player agency. Whether you prefer the frenetic pace of infantry skirmishes or the strategic freedom of large-scale vehicle warfare, Naval Warfare expands your options. With Tsuru Reef, we’re fusing land, sea, and air combat into a seamless experience. Don’t miss the Season 4 Gameplay Trailer, and keep an eye out for upcoming deep dives on how to master our new naval hardware.

Tsuru Reef

Tsuru Reef Map

Tsuru Reef is a sprawling new battlefield built from the ground up for our signature combined-arms combat. As one of our largest maps, it encourages creative movement, flanking maneuvers, and coordinated team pushes. Whether you are spearheading an amphibious assault or holding the line on land, Tsuru Reef is built to host truly cinematic Battlefield moments. We look forward to sharing more details on the map’s design and tactical layout before the season kicks off.

Battlefield 6 Today

We’ve made great strides in expanding the conflict between NATO and Pax Armata. Thanks to your insights via our Discord surveys, we’ve refined map layouts to better suit diverse playstyles, significantly boosting overall community satisfaction.

Today, Battlefield 6 offers a massive arsenal and a diverse vehicle roster. With the addition of fresh modes, Community Experiences, and a competitive Ranked Battle Royale, there is truly something for everyone. Season 4 will only continue this growth trend.

What Players are Enjoying Right Now

The feedback regarding our latest updates to gunplay and netcode has been invaluable. Many of you have praised the consistent recoil, distinct weapon identities, and the return of limb-damage multipliers. These changes reward accuracy and tactical mastery while remaining accessible to newer soldiers.

Season 3 by the Numbers

Between the launch of Season 3 and July 2nd, our community logged staggering amounts of playtime:

  • Railway to Golmud proved to be the most popular map of the season, recording over 16 million hours of play—more than double that of the runner-up, Contaminated.
  • Cairo Bazaar saw impressive engagement, racking up 5.7 million hours despite its mid-season arrival.
  • Obliteration mode remains a fan favorite, accounting for 413 million hours of explosive action.
  • Ranked Battle Royale has officially crossed the 1-billion-hour mark.
  • The M16A4 claimed the title of the most-deployed weapon in the game.

Community Experiences Worth Trying

Our Portal creators continue to impress us. Check out these top-rated community experiences:

  • Night Ops Conquest (1XVU6): A high-stakes tactical experience played under the shroud of darkness.
  • Siege Of St. Mere (ZSS9W): A challenging, no-air-support scenario focused on raw infantry grit.
  • Strike at Karkand (ZVEE4): A classic battle reimagined for the current conflict.

We are also excited to integrate ViperStudiosAndy’s Custom Breakthrough template into the official SDK for Season 4. Whether you’re a creator or a player, join our official Discord to showcase your custom modes!

Built Together With Community Feedback

Your voices are the architects of Battlefield 6. From weapon handling to UI tweaks, your input remains our highest priority.

Combat

We have focused heavily on the feel of combat. Through iterative updates to hit registration, netcode, and movement, we are striving for a firefight experience that is both fair and deeply rewarding. Your positive reception to Season 3’s gunplay tuning tells us we are on the right track, and we will keep monitoring your feedback to make further refinements.

Quality of Life

Progression is smoother than ever. On average, players are advancing through the Battle Pass 2.5x faster than during Season 1, and Hardware Mastery now unlocks attachments 50% quicker. We are committed to streamlining our menus and systems so you can spend less time navigating and more time in the heat of battle.

Play Your Way

We embrace the idea that Battlefield should support different playstyles. Whether you prefer the tight, claustrophobic intensity of Hagental Base or the vast, strategic scale of Mirak Valley and the incoming Tsuru Reef, we want you to feel that your preferred style is supported.

Ranked Battle Royale

Season 4 brings a fresh start for all competitive players. With the new season comes a rank reset and new rewards based on your previous performance. We have also implemented balance adjustments to ensure the most competitive experience possible. See our dedicated Ranked guide for the full breakdown of these changes.

More To Come

The fun doesn’t stop at launch. Wake Island is returning later this season, alongside community events and additional content drops. Keep an eye out for our post-launch Community Q&A, where we will address your burning questions directly.

Welcome Back

Whether you’ve been fighting since day one or are just returning to the fold, Season 4 is the ideal time to deploy. Battlefield 6 has evolved into a much more robust experience, and we are grateful to have you with us on this journey. Share your thoughts on the EA Forums or join the conversation on our official Discord.

See you on the battlefield.
