Iconic talents often find common ground. Just days after Ariana Grande shared the Saturday Night Live spotlight with the legendary Cher, she received a glowing endorsement from another entertainment titan: Barbra Streisand.

The Oscar-winning luminary took to social media to share a heartfelt tribute to the “We Can’t Be Friends” singer. “Ariana is a young woman of extraordinary talent,” Streisand noted alongside a charming photo of the pair. She praised Grande’s singular vocal ability, while also highlighting her versatility as an actor, dancer, and comedian. “She’s also sweet, kind, and thoughtful. I’m incredibly proud of you, Ariana, and grateful for your contribution to my album.”

A Generational Collaboration

Earlier this year, Grande joined forces with Streisand and fellow vocal powerhouse Mariah Carey for “One Heart, One Voice.” The track is a standout feature on Streisand’s 37th studio effort, The Secret of Life: Partners, Volume Two. The project has already resonated with critics and fans alike, peaking at No. 4 on Top Album Sales and securing a 2026 Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.

Streisand concluded her message by applauding Grande’s recent comedic turn. “You were magnificent on Saturday Night Live and looked absolutely lovely,” she added. The sentiment clearly resonated with Grande, who responded with an outpouring of gratitude, telling Streisand that the praise had “made her day, her year, and her life.”

Highlighting Versatility

Grande’s recent holiday episode of SNL was a masterclass in performance. From spoofing Mariah Carey’s seasonal classics to delivering uncanny impressions of stars like Céline Dion and Katy Perry, she proved her status as a multifaceted entertainer. The evening was also a historic one for the show, featuring Cher’s first performance on the program since 1987 and serving as the final curtain call for Emmy-nominated cast member Bowen Yang, who starred alongside Grande in the Wicked films.

While their professional bond has strengthened recently, Streisand and Grande’s history dates back to 2019, when they performed the classic duet “No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)” during Streisand’s Chicago tour stop. Their connection continues into the cinematic world as well; Grande is set to appear in Focker-in-Law, the latest entry in the franchise that Streisand famously joined years ago.
