Arc Raiders introduces new flying enemy and essential quality-of-life update
In the six months since Arc Raiders debuted, one specific request has dominated community feedback: the ability to manufacture required materials without leaving the current interface. While it may seem like a subtle tweak, players tired of navigating cumbersome sub-menus to piece together mechanical parts and weapon components will find this a massive improvement. By minimizing menu-heavy downtime, Raiders can spend less time in the bunker and more time on the surface.
“When crafting, raiders will now be able to fulfill missing materials directly, reducing time jumping between tabs,” notes the official developer update. Instead of hunting through inventory screens, the game now provides a consolidated window showing options to purchase, refine, or recycle the specific items needed to complete a blueprint.
The “Flashpoint” update serves as the centerpiece for March, and the overhauled crafting logic is just the beginning. A formidable new aerial adversary known as the Vaporizer is entering the fray, boasting erratic flight paths and lethal laser salvos. This mechanical threat is typically found hovering in the vicinity of Assessors.
These Assessors act as specialized Arc probes; while passive on their own, they carry high-tier loot and are perpetually flanked by aggressive Arc security details. Players can encounter these high-value targets during the new “Close Scrutiny” map condition, which falls under the broader “Arc Operations” category.
Successfully looting an Assessor is the primary method for obtaining the Dolabra blueprint. This new energy-based shotgun features dual firing modes, allowing users to toggle between a wide-area burst and a concentrated funnel. The arsenal also expands with the Canto—a reliable medium-ammo SMG—and the Surge Coil, a tactical device that releases periodic electrical pulses to stun any hostiles that drift too close.
Significant world changes are also underway: Shredders are migrating away from Stella Montis and will now appear across all maps during specific environmental conditions. Furthermore, the update introduces the High Gain Antenna project and various adjustments to Scrappy the rooster. The Arc Raiders Flashpoint update is scheduled to go live tomorrow at 4:30 a.m. EDT.
