ARC Raiders Gets Low Rating from Popular Publication Over Its Use of AI
One negative review has impacted the extraction shooter’s overall score on major aggregator sites.
Eurogamer published a review of ARC Raiders. Although the critic was broadly positive about Embark Studios’ extraction shooter, the game was ultimately given a 2 out of 5 for its use of AI-generated voice work.
Robust PvE encounters and an unusually welcoming community make Arc Raiders a more approachable extraction shooter than many others, but Embark Studios’ persistent reliance on AI voice generation damages the studio’s reputation.
Because of that low score, ARC Raiders’ aggregate ratings on Metacritic and OpenCritic fell from 94 points to 84 and 88, respectively.
While many commenters online agree that AI usage takes opportunities away from real actors, numerous critics have called out Eurogamer for such a drastic reduction in score.
