Anakin Skywalker Called “Rogue One” His Favorite and One of the Best Films of the New “Star Wars” Era
Hayden Christensen said the film captures the spirit of the original saga more faithfully than most and praised the depiction of Darth Vader.
Hayden Christensen, who portrays Anakin Skywalker, voiced his support for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Speaking at a Fan Expo Boston appearance, the actor described the film as one of the franchise’s stronger entries in recent years.
Christensen said Rogue One “conveyed the very essence of what Star Wars should be,” and singled out the movie’s representation of Darth Vader for praise. He added that the scenes featuring the Sith were executed “very precisely” and remained true to the character’s spirit.
“Many people contributed to shaping this character, and I’m only one part of that effort. I really liked what they did in the film.”
Christensen will continue to appear in the franchise: he is set to return as Anakin Skywalker in the second season of Ahsoka, which is scheduled to premiere in 2026. How the character will reappear has not been disclosed — in the first season finale Anakin appeared as a Force spirit.
The next release in the universe will be the film The Mandalorian and Grogu, which is due in cinemas on May 22.
