Spanning from Chicago, Illinois, to Los Angeles, California, Route 66 has served as a cornerstone of American culture and history since its establishment in 1926. As one of the nation’s inaugural continuous highway systems, it traversed eight states and became a symbol of exploration and the American spirit.
As we approach the 2026 centennial, a global wave of events and initiatives is underway to honor this historic route. The Route 66 Centennial Commission has curated a collection of official projects dedicated to preserving and sharing the story of “The Mother Road,” and we are deeply honored to announce that American Truck Simulator has been officially designated as a Route 66 Centennial Project. This prestigious recognition, sanctioned by the United States government and Congress, validates our commitment to capturing the essence of this historic journey.

Since our debut in 2016, our team has been meticulously crafting the American landscape, striving for total authenticity. The upcoming Illinois DLC will be the final piece of the puzzle, allowing our community to traverse the entire, historic 2,448-mile stretch from Chicago to Los Angeles. Completing this route in-game is a significant achievement, and we are grateful to the Commission and our dedicated player base for making this vision a reality.
