Alpha Nomos Shows Rhythm Combat in New Gameplay Trailer

RibCage Games has shown a new gameplay trailer for Alpha Nomos, a rhythm-action roguelite built around combat on the beat. The updated demo is available during Steam Next Fest, which runs from June 15 to June 22, 2026.

The game follows Cello, a small puppet adventurer who uses musical instruments as weapons. Attacks land harder when the player follows the rhythm, while off-beat hits intentionally sound wrong. The soundtrack reacts to each run instead of sitting in the background.

The new trailer focuses on the combat loop, enemy encounters and power-up evolutions. Reverb, Flanger, Delay and other audio effects work as upgrades. They change both the way a build plays and the way a fight sounds.

Alpha Nomos uses a roguelite structure, so each run can push the music in a different direction. Weapons are live-recorded instruments, and the developers describe the system as “music-as-mechanic”: every hit, dodge and upgrade follows the beat rather than being layered over a normal action game.

The setting is a broken world overrun by corrupted puppets. Cello wakes up after a force called the Alpha Nomos has silenced the music. The story follows her search for what happened to the world and what role she has in restoring its rhythm.

RibCage Games plans to launch Alpha Nomos in Q3 2026. The studio was founded by four developers who left mobile games to work on PC projects, and Alpha Nomos is its first commercial release.
