After 33 Years, Mortal Kombat Star Reveals Fatality That Never Made It into the Game

Many of the developers’ concepts never made it into the game’s final release.

Recently, the Mortal Kombat community uncovered a fatality that, for reasons unknown, was omitted from the game.

Fans drew attention to a post by Master Pesina (Daniel Pesina), the performer who previously portrayed Johnny Cage, Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Reptile, Smoke, and Noob Saibot in the series.

The video presents a previously unseen fatality for Liu Kang. It appears the move would have been a “butterfly kick” — a spinning jumping kick. Because the clip is unedited, it’s unclear what visual or gameplay effects this strike would have produced in the finished game.
