Action-Horror Outliver: Tribulation Ported to Android

Outliver: Tribulation blends influences from Resident Evil and Dark Souls against a mystical African backdrop.

A mobile edition of Outliver: Tribulation has launched on Android — a mystical third-person shooter from Nigerian studio GBROSSOFT. The developers fuse combat-horror elements, soulslike mechanics, and strands of African mythology.

Players take on the role of soldier Bolanle Gboyegu, who, while fleeing rebel forces, is pulled into the enigmatic Realm of Trials. To find his way home he must undergo an ancient ritual — but that ritual is only the beginning.

The protagonist’s toolkit includes a rifle, an arcane weapon, and combat amulets, and as he progresses additional abilities are unlocked.

The game originally debuted on Steam in 2023 and earned “mostly positive” reviews. Players have praised its distinctive setting and atmosphere, while pointing out weaknesses such as stiff animation, repetitive encounters, and a combat system with limited depth.

The mobile version is available on Google Play.
