2B Becomes a Boss: NieR: Automata Collaboration Launches in Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis
The heroines of NieR: Automata continue to appear across various franchises.
Characters from NieR: Automata frequently turn up in a wide range of projects — recent appearances include titles from the Final Fantasy series, The First Descendant, Stellar Blade, Soulcalibur, Rainbow Six Siege, Guilty Gear, and many others. Now the crossover has arrived in the cross-platform Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis, available on PC, iOS, and Android.
The crossover titled “YoRHa No.2 Type B Intercept: Encounter in the City Ruins” began on November 28, 2025 and will run until January 8, 2026.
The event is divided into two parts. In the first, players will battle 2B as a boss: by completing objectives they can unlock the Whirling Ravager skill — an impressive combat move showcasing 2B’s acrobatic combat style.
The second part is centered on cosmetics. As part of the collaboration, NieR: Automata–styled outfits are available for Yuffie and Tifa — featuring the franchise’s signature black costumes and blindfolds. The update also adds themed weapon skins.
As with all Ever Crisis content, the event uses gacha mechanics: some cosmetics are acquired through “prayers.” However, during the event players receive 10 free attempts per day (340 in total), an additional 3,000 Blue Crystals, and one free chance per day to obtain a weapon skin.
Future collaborations with NieR Replicant and NieR Re[in]carnation are expected — Square Enix hinted at them during the game’s second-anniversary broadcast back in September. No further details were provided at the time, except for one tease: Iris will receive Kainé’s outfit.
