15 Minutes of Black Myth: Zhong Kui Gameplay Shows Black Myth: Wukong Sequel
Game Science has released a 15-minute gameplay showcase for Black Myth: Zhong Kui, introducing a new protagonist, combat encounters, and story details ahead of a planned 2028 launch.
The studio surprised fans by giving the follow-up to its 2024 hit a full gameplay reveal.
The footage highlights the new main character, real-time battles, and a narrative segment framed by a cryptic poem:
With blood on my blade, I paint a new crimson face. An old friend pays a visit while the dream lasts. Old faces and past deeds have vanished from my eyes, but I still remember each of them—day and night. Those bound by love grow old; the righteous path lies far away. Today’s kindness or grievance does not decide the final song. Who said the Netherworld is far away? All the better—I will walk through it once more.
The release of Black Myth: Zhong Kui remains years away, with Game Science targeting 2028. The team noted that many aspects of the project could change during development, including the display format, as the showcase was captured in a 21:9 aspect ratio. Even at this stage, the game presents itself as an ambitious atmospheric action title for soulslike fans.
