Someone seems to have confused the franchise lore.
Rockstar Games released new Grand Theft Auto VI screenshots and opened official pre-orders. The standard edition costs 80 dollars, while the Ultimate edition costs 100 dollars.
The Ultimate edition includes several bonuses. One of these items raised questions among fans familiar with the series history.
Rockstar describes the Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers on their website as follows:
A Kotaku journalist noted that the weapon labeled as the Vice City pistol never appeared in the original Vice City. The scoped handgun shown in the screenshot actually debuted in GTA: Vice City Stories under the name Equalizer, where it replaced the .357 revolver.
The second pistol caused no confusion because it did appear in the original Vice City. Rockstar Games appears to have made a factual error regarding the series history. The Kotaku journalist suggested that the marketing team should review the franchise background more carefully.
Grand Theft Auto VI releases in November. The game will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S first. The developers have not announced a date for the PC version.
