The Disney sequel Zootopia has already pulled in more than $80 million across its first two days of global release.
Of that sum, $39.5 million came from audiences in the United States and Canada, while international markets — including China — contributed $41.6 million. Zootopia 2 opened in 17 territories in total; Russia is not counted among them following Disney’s suspension of operations there.
The film is set in a metropolis populated entirely by animals. Lead characters Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde pursue a mysterious serpent whose actions threaten to disrupt Zootopia’s idyllic peace.
