Zootopia 2 raked in $556 million globally over its opening weekend, registering the fourth-largest debut in cinema history. The sequel is also the first animated film to reach that level of revenue in its first week of release.
Domestic box office receipts amounted to $156 million, while international markets contributed $400 million. China was the top market, bringing in $272 million.
Notably, the original Zootopia opened with just $75 million, yet its total worldwide gross later surpassed $1 billion.
