Zootopia 2 has officially ascended to the top of the animation world, becoming the most successful animated feature in Hollywood history after crossing the $1.7 billion mark at the global box office. The sequel, featuring the beloved duo of Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps, managed to surpass Inside Out 2, which previously held the record with $1.69 billion in 2024.
Despite this massive achievement, the title for the highest-grossing animated film globally remains with the Chinese blockbuster Ne Zha, which boasts a staggering $2.25 billion in total box office receipts.
Meanwhile, the third installment of the Avatar franchise continues its strong theatrical run, reaching a cumulative total of $1.3 billion. The film has generated $367.5 million domestically in the United States and an additional $932.5 million from international markets.
