Zendaya to Star in New Sci-Fi Film by Alex Garland

Zendaya has been tapped to headline a forthcoming science fiction project helmed by Alex Garland for the A24 studio. While the film currently remains untitled and its narrative details are under tight wraps, production is slated to commence in 2027.

This venture marks the latest collaboration between the visionary director and A24, following their successful track record on titles such as Ex Machina, Men, and Civil War. Garland is currently overseeing post-production on his adaptation of the video game Elden Ring, which wrapped filming this past summer ahead of its scheduled premiere in March 2028.

For Zendaya, this role continues her trajectory of partnering with renowned filmmakers and major production houses. Her 2026 slate included performances in A Drama! and Odyssey, alongside her return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Spider-Man: New Day. Additionally, fans can look forward to her reprising her role as Chani in Dune: Part Three this December.
