Earlier today, Xbox released a new FPS Boost update for three Sonic the Hedgehog games: Sonic Generations, Sonic Unleashed, and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. Those three Xbox 360 games were previously made playable through backwards compatibility, but all have now gotten major performance upgrades, including 60 fps. As a result, the three games look and run better than ever. For players that haven’t experience them before, they look like brand-new games! Naturally, Sonic fans are very happy about this, taking to social media to share their appreciation for what Xbox has done with the games. In fact, it actually looks like some Sonic fans might be sold on picking up an Xbox Series X, now!

PlayStation fans are a little jealous, though.

As someone who doesn’t have a Series X yet I’m always really jealous of what they’re doing with backwards compatibility. Sonic Generations at 60fps sounds great, too bad Sony won’t give us PS3 support.

Slow and stady wins the race, apparently.

The year is 2021 and Sonic Unleashed finally runs well on consoles

Generations was already quite good!

Sonic Generations in 4K/60fps/AutoHDR is just fantastic.

The best 3D Sonic game is now practically perfect.

It’s just nice to see the Sonic community happy.

Sonic fans on Xbox are WINNING. Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Generations and All Stars Racing Transformed now run at 4K 60fps with HDR and other enhancements on Series X. You absolutely LOVE to see it.
