Woody Allen to start filming new movie in October
Woody Allen has finalized the cast for his upcoming feature, with production slated to commence on October 5 in Madrid. The ensemble for this currently untitled comedy will be led by Jemima Kirke, Peter Vives, Marton Csokas, and Jakob Oftebro.
This project marks the 51st directorial effort of Allen’s prolific career. The narrative is described as a contemporary romantic comedy, with Madrid serving as more than just a backdrop—it is intended to be a central character in its own right. Filming will take place primarily in the heart of the Spanish capital, with additional sequences scheduled to be shot in Aranjuez.
While specific plot details remain under wraps, production agreements with local authorities stipulate that the film’s final title must incorporate the city’s name. The budget is estimated at roughly $12 million, bolstered by a combined contribution of €1.5 million from municipal and regional government bodies.
