Will the Updated Red Dead Redemption Deliver a New Level of Quality? Video Comparison Released
Does the updated Red Dead Redemption represent a new standard of quality? A video comparison has been released
Rockstar has released an enhanced edition of Red Dead Redemption — owners of prior versions receive the update at no extra cost.
Recent comparisons show improved image quality on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. On PS5, texture detail, shadow fidelity, and draw distance have been boosted. The visuals are cleaner and more stable. The Switch 2 delivers an unexpectedly similar visual level.
The standout improvement is a consistent 60 FPS on PS5 and Switch 2. That level of smoothness was missing on PS4. Handheld mode runs reliably: on the Switch 2 build the differences compared to PS5 are minimal.
This isn’t a wholesale “next-level” overhaul. It’s a careful refresh — it looks better, runs smoother, and is free for owners of the previous release.
