The cinematic adaptation of the musical Wicked is scheduled to arrive on digital platforms on December 30, according to reports from When To Stream.
Serving as a reimagined prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the project is based on Gregory Maguire’s celebrated novel and the iconic 2003 Broadway production. The narrative centers on the unlikely bond between the misunderstood Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and the popular Glinda (Ariana Grande) long before they became the witches of legend.
Directed by Jon M. Chu, the film has proven to be a massive commercial success, already grossing over $493 million at the global box office.
