Universal’s musical spectacle “Wicked: Part Two” has officially cleared the $500 million mark in global box office receipts, according to industry reports.

The sequel has generated $331.6 million domestically, while international markets contributed $172.3 million, bringing its worldwide cumulative total to a staggering $503.9 million. Audiences will be able to enjoy the film at home when it arrives on digital platforms on December 30.

The plot centers on the transformative friendship between two young witches, Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda (Ariana Grande). Serving as a reimagined prequel to “The Wizard of Oz,” the project draws inspiration from Gregory Maguire’s novel and the iconic Broadway musical. Its predecessor, released in 2024, was a massive commercial success, earning $758 million during its theatrical run.
