Universal’s cinematic musical “Wicked” has officially eclipsed the $500 million mark in global ticket sales, according to the latest industry reports.

The film has raked in $331.6 million domestically in the United States, while international markets have contributed an additional $172.3 million. This brings its worldwide total to a staggering $503.9 million. Audiences will soon be able to experience the magic at home, as the film is slated for a digital release on December 30.

The narrative explores the intricate bond between two gifted young witches, Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda (Ariana Grande). Serving as a prequel to “The Wizard of Oz,” the production is inspired by Gregory Maguire’s celebrated novel and the iconic Broadway stage play. This success follows the monumental performance of the first “Wicked” chapter, which debuted in 2024 and garnered $758 million globally.
