Gladys Knight, Mickey Guyton

The 2021 CMT Music Awards on Wednesday night might have been a celebration of country music, but the evening invited a whole mix of genres for its eclectic performances.

After Mickey Guyton and Breland wrapped up their “Cross Country” collab, she and the Empress of Soul Gladys Knight delivered a rousing performance of Knight’s 1969 hit “Friendship Train.” Meanwhile, H.E.R. and Chris Stapleton took the stage together for a showstopping rendition of the R&B star’s song “Hold On.”

Kelsea Ballerini and Paul Klein of the indie pop band LANY slowed things down with the debut performance of their stirring collab “I Quit Drinking,” while pop singer/songwriter JP Saxe teamed up with Ingrid Andress for “Like That,” with Andress filling in for an absent Maren Morris.

So which performance do you think was the best one of the night? Vote below!
