Back in May, Weezer launched a cover of Toto’s 1982 single “Africa” to satisfy a fan request. It grew to become Weezer’s first top 100 hit of the last decade. Now, the band has shared the video for his or her “Africa” cowl, directed by Brendan Walter and Jade Ehlers. It stars “Weird Al” Yankovic, who attire like Rivers Cuomo for a recreation of Weezer’s “Sweater Song” video. Watch under.
Since Weezer shared their “Africa” cowl, Toto returned the favor by releasing a rendition of Weezer’s “Hash Pipe.” Earlier this summer season, Weezer brought “Africa” to “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” It featured a keyboard solo from Toto’s Steve Porcaro. Weezer has additionally launched the “Africa” cowl as a restricted version 7” vinyl single.
