John Legend is joining his Get Lifted Co., Mike Jackson and Ty Stiklorius to executive create a future HBO Original documentary concerning a team of trainees at a Philadelphia public institution that participate in a unique songwriting partnership.
In the brand-new trailer for Stand Up & Shout: Songs From a Philly High School, shared solely with Billboard on Thursday (Oct. 19), we are presented to the 10th at Hill-Freedman World Academy, as they collaborate with regional artists to develop a cd of effective initial tunes that catch both the difficult times they’re residing in and the delight that songs brings. Joining the Hill-Freedman World Academy High School trainees in their innovative quest are acclaimed music abilities Kristal Oliver, Andrew Lipke and Bethlehem Roberson, together with program supervisor and songs innovation educator Ezechial Thurman.

The Amy Schatz-routed docudrama “explores the transformative power of music and how arts education can unlock creativity and be a source of hope and healing,” per a news release, and will certainly broadcast on HBO on Nov. 7 at 9 p.m. ET. Stand Up & Shout: Songs From a Philly High School will certainly likewise be offered to stream on Max.
