Watch ITZY Discuss the Inspiration Behind ‘Cake’ Video and ‘Kill My Doubt’ Mini Album

ITZY‘s latest mini album, Kill My Doubt, arrived in July and marked the K-pop stars’ 5th entrance on the Billboard 200 graph, coming to a head on the all-genre tally at No. 23. After advertising the cd in the United States in current months, the quintet took a seat with Billboard News to review what divides their newest launch from their various other previous mini cds throughout the years.

“We talk about the confidence a lot, but this time, we talked about the darkness inside so we could love ourself because we defeated the darkness inside. I think it’s a big difference from [our] previous albums,” Ryujin informed host Tetris Kelly.”

“Cake” was launched as the lead solitary from the task and includes each of the team participants — Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong and Yuna — establishing numerous epic circumstances like those included in Netflix’s Squid Game and various other programs with major personality power. (The track later on came to a head on Billboard’s Global Excl. U.S. graph at No. 194.)

“I love the story of the music video because it’s a little bit cute and it’s talking about the main character who never dies,” Ryujin clarified.

Lia chipped in, including, “the costumes made it very fun, it really went with our songs. And not only Squid Game … Korean dramas and Korean movies also appear, but I think for our global fans, Squid Game would be the most [recognizable].”

Elsewhere in the meeting, the ladies speak about going to KCON in Los Angeles, their existing favored tv programs and what enjoyable tasks they stood up to throughout their current journey to the States.
