HUNTR/X Swap Demon-Hunting Tips on Instagram’s “Close Friends Only: Speed Round”

Published Oct. 29

The vocal trio from K-pop’s breakout group HUNTR/X — EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami — traded supernatural stories and quick-fire favorites in Instagram’s Close Friends Only: Speed Round. The short clip, posted Oct. 29, shows the three squeezed onto a couch as they trade anecdotes, sing-along choices and first-concert memories (Audrey Nuna says her first big show was Beyoncé, an experience she describes as transcendent).

When asked for practical demon-hunting rules, Rei Ami offered a tongue-in-cheek piece of advice that had the others laughing: “Don’t fall in love with the demon.” Her quip underscored the group’s playful chemistry and theatrical persona.

The session also included an eerie studio moment recounted by EJAE. She says she briefly felt an unexplained presence while tracking vocals for the band’s smash single “Golden.” “I saw a ghost,” she reported, describing the impression of footsteps and a fleeting figure in jeans and a flannel — a strange interruption during a standout vocal take.

HUNTR/X’s profile has only grown since the Netflix release of Kpop Demon Hunters this past summer. Their single “Golden” marked its 13th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 dated Nov. 1 and previously enjoyed an eight-week run atop the Billboard Hot 100 before being succeeded by Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia.” The trio has pushed the momentum beyond streaming: they’ve appeared on The Tonight Show and are slated for iHeartMedia’s upcoming Jingle Ball.
