War of the Chosen makes your XCOM troopers go berserk when their buddies die
One of the important thing components to the XCOM 2 growth War of the Chosen is the relationships between your troopers. Rather than being chilly, impassive husks of polygons doing all your bidding, they’ll now construct up relationships with one another, relying on compatibility.
This is all coming from our protection of E3 2017 – try extra of it right here.
We spoke to Jake Solomon, designer for each XCOM: Enemy Unknown and XCOM 2 in regards to the new system in War of the Chosen, and he instructed us in regards to the unpredictability of the relationships and what would possibly occur.
“You can’t predict who’s going to be compatible, but if you send compatible soldiers on missions together they eventually can form a bond. Then they can form greater and greater bonds, that give those soldiers abilities that they can perform together in combat. And if they do die, then the other one goes berserk in combat.”
That act of going berserk might be much like the present panicking system, and is sort of actually a random, unpredictable act which will or could not hinder you. Considering you will be dropping a soldier to activate it, it is unlikely it is going to be value it, although, even when the survivor goes on an alien-murdering rampage.
It’s all about their push for extra player-driven narratives within the sport, and whereas it’s not fairly XCOM: The Dating Simulator, it’s one step nearer to that dream.
