Walker Hayes‘ “Fancy Like” rockets onto Billboard‘s Country Digital Song Sales chart (dated June 26) at No. 1 with 10,300 sold, up 943%, in the week ending June 17, according to MRC Data.
Walker earns his first leader on any Billboard ranking. The Mobile, Ala., native first charted in September 2010 with “Pants,” which hit No. 40 on Hot Country Songs in January 2011. In 2018, he scored his first top 10 on the multi-metric tally with the No. 9-peaking “You Broke Up With Me.”
The single, which Hayes co-wrote, is from his EP Country Stuff, released June 4. The song has gained traction on TikTok, where Hayes boasts over 375,000 followers, after he posted multiple clips dancing to the song with his children, including one with his 15-year-old daughter, Lela, that has been viewed more than 7 million times.
“I have my first No. 1 on Billboard with a song that’s completely me, through and through,” Walker marvels. “That’s the coolest part. It almost seems too easy because it was just me being me, in the song and with my family.”
“Fancy Like,” released on Monument Records, also begins at No. 4 on the all-genre Digital Song Sales chart, where Walker earns his first top 10. On Hot Country Songs, the track arrives at No. 37, becoming his third top 40 hit on the survey.
