Wagner Moura Denies Rumors of Playing Mister Sinister in New X-Men Film
The Elite Squad star is open to joining the Marvel universe if the studio contacts him.
Wagner Moura has addressed rumors that Marvel Studios is considering him for the role of Mister Sinister in the upcoming X-Men adaptation. In an interview with ScreenRant, the actor shared that he regularly receives posts from fans about his potential involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but the studio itself has not contacted him:
“I read about it myself on the internet, and people send it to me. I've actually been a fan of this whole universe since I was a kid, reading all these graphic novels and everything. But there is nothing to it. No one has contacted me about this. It is just something people read about. I don't know anything about it, to be honest. But I would gladly accept.”

Meanwhile, the latest wave of rumors names Adam Driver as the leading candidate for the role of Mister Sinister. Information about his candidacy surfaced shortly before media outlets began confirming the involvement of Samara Weaving as Emma Frost and Kit Connor as Cyclops. Moura’s name, by contrast, appeared only in earlier casting reports.
Marvel Studios is expected to officially unveil the cast for the new X-Men film at the Disney D23 presentation on August 15.
