Fast & Furious star Vin Diesel will write the screenplay for a Mattel project centered on robot boxers.
Originally marketed as Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots, the toys first appeared in 1964 and have since become a cultural mainstay. Diesel is also expected to headline the film and serve as one of its producers.
No plot specifics have been released. Meanwhile, Diesel is simultaneously developing the final Fast & Furious installment and a new entry in the Riddick franchise.
