After placing a Blood Altar in your castle in V Rising, you’ll start hunting V Blood bosses to unlock new vampire powers, structures, and recipes. Following their blood trails can be a long and tedious task, but with our V Rising guide, you’ll cut down your search time. Use our guide to find every V Blood boss and their rewards.
You don’t need to take down every V Blood to progress, but you will need to defeat most of them. V Bloods unlock mandatory crafting recipes, as well as transportation methods that will be useful as you explore the huge map.
When searching for roaming V Bloods, use the tracking feature in the Blood Altar. These maps will give you a general idea of where the roaming V Bloods are, but their walking paths can be very long. Follow the blood trails when you’re in the area to make it easier to track them down.

Soul Shards locations
After defeating each Soul Shard boss, they’ll drop a Soul Shard that you bring back to your castle. When you have a Soul Shard in your inventory, you can’t use any vampire powers, mounts, waygates, or cave passages. Your movement speed is decreased by 15% and you take 25% more damage. Place these Soul Shards in your castle and interact with them to receive a two hour buff.
If you’re playing on a server, they may have different Soul Shard settings. If the Soul Shards are set to “unique”, there is only one of each Soul Shard. You’ll have to either be the first person to defeat the Soul Shard boss or steal the Soul Shard from the owner. If you’re looking for a Soul Shard, interact with an Eye of Twilight to pinpoint each Soul Shard on the map.
