Update 1.61: Material System Improvements

We are thrilled to share some fantastic updates with our #BestCommunityEver! Following our upcoming 1.61 update, three additional iconic trucks will be upgraded with our overhauled material system. Dive into the details below to see what’s coming!

We initially debuted the enhanced material framework in update 1.60, introducing it to the DAF NGD and MAN TG3 TGX in Euro Truck Simulator 2, alongside the Mack Anthem and Western Star 49X in American Truck Simulator. With the arrival of our next patch, we are proud to expand this visual overhaul to the International LT and International LoneStar in American Truck Simulator, as well as the timeless Volvo FH Series 6 in Euro Truck Simulator 2!

This advanced material system fundamentally transforms cabin aesthetics by refining how interior surfaces interact with light. The result is a dramatically more realistic, immersive, and visually striking environment. Textures such as supple leather, fine fabrics, tactile plastics, and brushed metals now boast distinct, authentic finishes, even when driving in low-light conditions.

As promised, we are steadily rolling out this upgrade across our entire vehicle lineup, ensuring you can experience gorgeous, high-fidelity cabins no matter your rig of choice.
