Update 1.62: Improved Material System

Comment Views: 0

Our rollout of the advanced Material System continues to expand across our entire vehicle lineup. With the arrival of the upcoming 1.62 update for Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator, two more iconic rigs are receiving this graphical overhaul, elevating their cabin aesthetics to a brand-new level.

We are thrilled by how much you have been enjoying the richer visual depth this system introduces to truck interiors. Your enthusiastic response, constructive feedback, and incredible virtual snapshots have been fantastic to witness. Thank you for your continued support!

In patch 1.62, our dedicated vehicle development teams have successfully integrated these shader enhancements into the cockpit of the Iveco S-Way for Euro Truck Simulator 2, alongside the All-New Volvo VNL in American Truck Simulator.

This advanced rendering framework radically transforms cabin lighting and overall fidelity by meticulously simulating how various surfaces interact with light sources. Consequently, the driving environment becomes notably more immersive, legible, and striking. Textural contrasts—distinguishing supple leather from rugged plastics, woven fabrics, and polished metals—remain remarkably crisp, even during low-light nighttime hauls.

True to our word, we are methodically bringing this graphical upgrade to additional models, ensuring a consistently high-tier visual standard across our entire garage. For a behind-the-scenes look at the technical artistry required to adapt these materials for new trucks, take a moment to explore our dedicated Under the Hood development article, featuring insights directly from our engineering team.

We hope you look forward to experiencing these overhauled cabins firsthand in the upcoming patch!
